Canada: New petition demands increase in work permit duration for international students

Toronto (Canada), March 20, 2024: A new petition, e4454 for PGWP, has been presented in the House of Commons, requesting an increase in the current duration of post-graduate work permits (PGWPs) for international students in Canada.
Ruby Sahota, Member of Parliament for Brampton North, presented the petition on March 18, 2024.
The petition e4454 calls on the Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship to extend the duration of the post graduate work permits for international students in 8-12 month study programs to two years. Similarly, it proposes for an extension to five years for students in two-year programs.
